Business Development Specialist – Trade Show Liaison
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on attending trade shows, generating high-quality leads, and initiating valuable connections with potential customers in the Battery Pack and Charger OEM business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the battery and charger industry, be multilingual, and possess strong networking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent our company at trade shows and industry events related to battery packs and chargers
- Identify and engage with potential customers, understanding their needs and pain points in the OEM battery and charger market
- Generate and qualify leads, ensuring they meet our target customer profile
- Make introductions between promising leads and our sales team
- Register and track new project leads in our CRM system
- Provide ongoing support in customer relationships post-introduction
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth handover and follow-up
- Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities in the battery and charger OEM space
- Contribute to the company’s social media presence by creating and sharing relevant content
- Attend and participate in related industry events, conferences, and webinars
- Support educational initiatives and special needs programs related to our industry
- Engage in social responsibility activities on behalf of the company
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the Battery Pack and Charger OEM industry
- Proven track record of successful lead generation and relationship building in the battery and charger sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong networking abilities and comfortable in public-facing roles
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel frequently for trade shows and client meetings
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
- Fluency in at least two major European languages (e.g., English, German, French, Italian, Spanish)
- Active presence on professional social media platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Experience in technical sales or engineering roles within the battery and charger industry
- Demonstrated success in a commission-based role
- Additional European language skills
- Public speaking or presentation experience
Compensation:
This is a part-time position that offers a unique compensation structure based on success. You will earn a percentage of profit sharing for the first year or first two years of business generated from your leads. This performance-based model offers significant earning potential for high performers.
Additional Information:
- Business expenses must be approved in advance of work plan.
- Activities will be managed by the VP of Global Sales
- This role requires a high degree of independence and self-management
- Commitment to participating in company-sponsored educational and special needs support initiatives
